A Divine Reset

One thing I know about the Lord is this: He is a Restorer. After every season of trials and battles, He gives rest. God does not leave us wounded after warfare and expect us to keep walking as if nothing happened. He heals, restores, and renews.

The beginning of the year is a sacred invitation to come to Him for a divine reset—a kind of rest that can only be found in His presence. January is not about rushing forward; it is about returning to the Lord and allowing Him to realign our hearts.

Let Jesus’ words guide you this month:

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Suggested Bible reflections for the month:

Week 1: Psalm 37:4 — "Seek Your happiness in the Lord and He will give you your heart desire"

Week 2: Psalm 23 (memorizing it is highly encouraged)

Week 3: Isaiah 61 — “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound”

Week 4: Revelation 21 — “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Let January be a month of rest, healing, and holy recalibration.

You may be thinking 'Well this sounds good but you only hear it in movies and in songs, in real life

you have to make things happen...'. But what if today Jesus Himself is telling you this 'My

son/daughter, Close your eyes and make a wish'. One thing you should never forget is that Jesus is

interested in every detail of your life, even the ones you are not comfortable talking about or may

think it would take you ages to get.

Note a difference here between religion and relationship with Christ : religion will give you rituals

of how to do things, like how to talk to God whereas relationship with Christ will tell you : have a

conversation with The Lord. The difference is that one is led by Man and the other by the Holy

Spirit. The Holy Spirit can sometimes let you know in what mood Jesus is. Sometimes He will lead

you to be just quiet in the presence of God. Other times He will lead you to talk, or He will ask you

to sing, or at times He will lead you to just listen and learn.

Jesus is a very interesting person. Like every good architect, He is very well-organised, He

sometimes plays with numbers (it's kind of hard to explain this one, but take it as He sometimes

uses numbers to organise what He is doing). He never places anything just randomly in His plans,

everything has a meaning, everything is for something, a purpose. And guess what? Sometimes He

leaves some blank spaces in His plans. And those are the places He asks you to make a wish, to

imagine how you would like things to be. He says in His Word 'Come and let's reason together'

(Isaiah 1 :18a). His eyes go around all the earth to look for those who seek Him so that He will

show Himself strong on their behalf (2 Chronicles 16 : 9, paraphrased). Could it be that some of

your heart desires and prayer requests are things He actually longs to give to you, that is why He's

placed them on your heart. He molds you till His will becomes yours and you both think of the

same things.

There is one particular thing God has placed in your heart today; it's called Your Heart Desire! So

just close your eyes and ask Him to do it. He has been waiting for this moment when you will

finally come into agreement with Him and ask. See, it is one thing to come into agreement with a

believer and ask God for something. But it is a whole new dimension when you come into

agreement with God and ask.

Go on, hold His hand, agree with Him, and sincerely ask.
