So many times, we wonder why life still throws us trials and pain—even after we've given our lives to Jesus. Shouldn’t it be smooth sailing now? As we say in French, "la vie en rose".

Well, if you’ve walked with the Lord for a while, you probably know that isn’t always the case. But what you may not know is that these trials have a purpose. Let's explore this together—through Scripture, reflection, and testimony.

Why Do Trials Still Happen?

You’ve probably heard someone ask, “If God really loves us, why does He allow so much chaos in the world?”

That’s a fair question—but it’s often asked only when things go wrong. When life is good, people rarely stop to say, “Wow, maybe God is good, and that’s why I’m still here.”

But here’s a truth to hold onto:

We live in a fallen world. Pain, hardship, and evil exist—not because God wants them, but because He gave us free will.

Free will means we can choose His ways or reject them. Unfortunately, not everyone uses their choices for good. Some choose evil—and evil has consequences.

Yet even in the midst of this, God is always working to preserve and protect those who love Him. Sometimes, He may whisper, “Don’t go that way today.” And if we listen, He preserves us. Other times, He calls someone else to intercede and disrupt the enemy’s plans.

Yes, there are consequences for our choices—and not every trial is God’s fault.

The Potter and the Clay

When a clay jar is broken, the potter doesn’t throw it away. He re-molds it.

Jesus, the Master Potter, takes our broken pieces and begins a process of shaping us into something new and beautiful. But it is a process. Sometimes the clay has to be crushed, softened, and purified before it can become a strong, lovely vessel.

In the same way, your trial may feel ugly, painful, and confusing. But if you yield to Him, He will use even that to shape you into the bride of Christ—radiant and ready.

Your Pain Has Purpose

Did you know that what you’re overcoming now could be the very thing God will use to help someone else later?

When you’ve walked through the fire, you don’t just sympathize—you empathize. Your story becomes someone else’s hope. You become living proof that God can carry us through.

Don’t end your life. It’s not the solution—and it’s not your right.

Life belongs to God alone. Revelation 21:8 speaks plainly of the danger of taking a life—even our own. If you're feeling overwhelmed, please know this: Jesus is with you. He never leaves you to carry the cross alone.

Father, thank You that You care so deeply for each of us. Thank You that even if we were the only human alive, You still would’ve sent Jesus for us.

Right now, I pray for anyone going through hard times—whether sickness, mental torment, or confusion. Let Your healing flow. Let Your peace come. Strengthen every weary heart and bring clarity to the overwhelmed mind.

You promised never to leave us nor forsake us. Be near, Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.
