Practical Ways to Make Time For God

Making Time for God

Welcome, beloved Queens and Daughters of the Most High!

I’m so excited to introduce our very first blog entry inspired by our podcast. My name is Eva-Marianne, and I’m a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and above all, a daughter of the King. The Lord laid the vision of Queens and Daughters on my heart to support young Christian women like you in your everyday walk with Him.

Through this blog—and our bi-weekly podcast—we’ll be exploring relatable life topics and sharing spiritual insights and practical solutions grounded in God’s Word. If you're looking for guidance on navigating faith, work, finances, and family, you’re in the right place.

A Word for the Busy Daughter

Let’s be real: life gets busy. You love the Lord and desire to grow in intimacy with Him, but your day is packed with responsibilities—work, family, ministry, and service. By the time you get home, you’re exhausted, and your time with God often feels squeezed out.

If that’s your story, I want you to know: you're not alone. And you don’t need to live in guilt anymore.

Here are 3 practical ways to make space for God in a full schedule:

1. Start With Prayer and Worship While Getting Ready

Speak to God as you prepare for your day. Your morning declarations might sound like:

“Father, I thank You for this new day. Holy Spirit, be my Companion today. I plead the blood of Jesus over my family. May everyone I meet encounter Your presence.”

And yes—play a worship song. Let the atmosphere shift even as you dress. Use earbuds if others in your household are still asleep. Be considerate. Be wise.

2. Turn Commute Time Into Devotion Time

If you walk or use public transport, pray softly or listen to a Bible study or podcast. Reading Scripture on your Bible App or following a study plan is a powerful use of time. If you drive, try the audio Bible—like on the YouVersion App—and meditate as you listen.

Just remember: stay alert and focused on the road. We want you safe!

3. Invite the Holy Spirit Into Your Workday

During breaks, step aside for a moment of quiet. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak. Jot down what you hear. Be open—He may speak during a conversation or in the stillness of your heart.

Monthly Scripture Meditation

Let this be your anchor verse for January:

Song of Songs 2:10–12 (TPT)

“Arise, my dearest. Hurry, my darling. Come away with me!... The season of hiding is over and gone... The season for singing has arrived.”

This is God’s invitation for deeper communion. Don’t ignore it.

Bonus Tips for Work-from-Home or Flexible Schedules

If your challenge isn’t time but distraction, here are some powerful tools:

  • Sleep early: Your body is a temple. Rest well.

  • Prep the night before: Pack lunch, prep coffee, pick your outfit.

  • Prayer Corner Essentials: Keep a pen and notepad nearby. When distracting thoughts pop up, write them down instead of interrupting your devotion.

  • Bring a light snack: If hunger always distracts you, prepare a healthy nibble ahead.

  • Silence distractions: Use "Do Not Disturb" mode or “Bedtime Mode” on your phone.

Final Thoughts

Sis, remember: God isn’t mad at you for struggling. He loves you and is calling you deeper. These are tips I personally use—and they work.

Let’s not say “Lord, I want to, but I don’t have time.” If there’s a will, there’s a way.

You’ve got this. See you in our next post! Stay blessed and stay connected.

With love,

Eva-Marianne 💖
